31.03.2006 - The 3d International Music Festival “Beatles-Forever!”

The 3d International Music Festival “Beatles-Forever!” is held on the 20th of May 2006. 8 hours of live music!
The opening is at 2 p.m. It is to take place in a mounting resort “Logoysk”. Entrance is free. The concert is to start at 2:15 p.m.

The musicians are to take part in the concert in the following order:

 

1. Vladimir Polyakov and Sergey Chipurnov’s duet (St. Petersburg, Russia)

2. “Kwint-U” band (Sergiev Posad, Russia)

3. “V.S.O.P.” band (Minsk, Belarus)

4. Leonid Tihomirov (St. Petersburg, Russia)

5. “Apple Tea” band (Minsk, Belarus)

6. Belarusian Beatles-Project: Tkachenko, Molchanov, Daineko, Kasheparov and Alipova (Minsk, Belarus)

7. Valeriy Yarushin and “New Ariel” band (Moscow, Russia)

8. “The Beatles Experience” band (Nottingham, England)

 

The performance of each musician lasts 45 minutes.

Different contests are held by the sponsors of the festival during the seven intervals in between live performances. 

Vladimir Polyakov and Sergey Chipurnov’s duet
St. Petersburg

   

Vladimir Polyakov - accordion. He has been playing Beatles music since 1965. He usually takes part in St. Petersburg’s parties devoted to “The Beatles”.

Sergey Chipurnov – bayan. He works in Smirnov orchestra. He visited lots of countries with this orchestra. He has been playing with Polyakov since 2004.

“Kwint-U” band

The public is often surprised at the unusual cast of the band. Three of four musicians of the band are girls.
Due to this the band sounds very extraordinary.
Their cast is: Gennady Vasilyev – drums; Julia Kandaurova – keyboards, vocals; Victoria Pilosyan – solo-guitar, vocals; Julia Pilosyan – bass-guitar, vocals.
Being very young and having played only for 5 years they have already solid experience of playing at different concerts and festivals devoted to the memorable dates of “The Beatles”. Their concerts have great success with the public as they attract not only old generation – experts in the Beatles music but their contemporaries as well. This year the group is going to present a completely renewed programme.

V.S.O.P. band
Minsk

A great desire to play together made these four musicians playing in different projects close in. The greater part of the repertoire is the songs written by A. Nesterovich and A. Kozlovskiy and of course the songs of “The Beatles”.

Andrew Kozlovskiy – guitar, vocals (“Suzor’e” band, “Bros in Blues” band, “Morjo” project, a legend of Belarusian Rock’n Roll).

Leonid Yurkevich – drums (Sergey Briksa’s project, “Magistrat” band, A.Tihonovich and
Y. Poplavskaya’s project).

Andrew Starikov – bass-guitar, back vocals (“Moby Dik” and “Hush” bands).

Alexander Nesterovich – keyboards, back vocals, a legendary Belarusian rock musician (the manager of “Suzor’e”, “Inspector” and “Victoria” bands).

 

Leonid Tihomirov
St. Petersburg

Leonid Tihomirov is an actor and a composer. He was the leader of “Gemnazia” band, 1967-1971, “Za” band from 1974. He has been participating in Beatles parties in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Talyatti. He has been singing the songs of “The Beatles” since 1967.

 

Apple Tea band
Minsk


“Apple Tea” are the representatives of a modern Belarusian jazz, often called “the best Belarusian jazz expert”, as the biography of “Apple Tea” is closely connected with big jazz festivals “Jazz Jamboree” (Poland), “Rheinkultur” (Germany), “Kaunas Jazz” (Lithuania), “Rigas Ritmi”, “Saulkrasti Jazz” (Latvia) and etc.
Today’s cast of “Apple Tea” is a “cocktail” of musicians of natural gifts and the music they play is popular even among those who don’t recon themselves among jazz fans. Their virtuosity, improvisation, variety of styles (jazz, folk, funk, Latino-American music), usage of modern performing devices in arrangement present peculiar musical exclusive.
All this is reflected in their last album “Made With Regula”.
The cast is: Igor Satsevich – bass guitar, composer; Alexander Sapega – drums; Michael Philipenya - guitar; Maxim Pugachov – keyboards.

Victor Molchanov is a famous Belarusian musician. At present he’s a solo-guitar in “Pesnyary” band.

Vladimir Tkachenco is an Honored artist of the Republic of Belarus, guitarist, arranger of Michael Finberg’s orchestra and the author of “Beatles” symphony.

Valeriy Daineko is an Honored artist of the Republic of Belarus, soloist of the “golden” cast of “Pesnyary” band.

Right now he is a soloist of “Belarusian Pesnyary” band which is successfully playing on tour around the former-USSR performing the best hits of “Pesnyary” and new songs written recently.

Anatoliy Kasheparov is an Honored artist of the Republic of Belarus. He is a soloist of the “golden” cast of “Pesnyary” band. He lives in the USA right now where he’s performing Belarusian songs in clubs. His amazing voice will bring a new tinge to Beatles songs.

Olga Alipova is a soloist of the first Belarusian Beatles project that originally came about in 1972. She has a marvelous unique voice.

 

Valeriy Yarushin and “New Ariel” band
Moscow

The name of the manager of “New Ariel” band, Valeriy Yarushin, has been well-known since the USSR times and many generations are fond of such his songs as “Mother’s record”, “You are going away”. But the fact of him being a great fan of “The Beatles” isn’t well-known to many. He was the first one from Russia who was honored to participate in the Beatles Festival at the end of August in a legendary club “Cavern” in Liverpool where “The Beatles” played themselves many years ago. The professionalism of this musician was highly estimated by the audience during the last festival in Minsk. He’ll bring new arrangements of “The Beatles” music this year.

“The Beatles Experience” suggests a musical journey through the era that rocked the world. The band play the hits which made “The Beatles” a legend. Scenery and costumes being synonymous with “The Beatles” won’t leave even the most reluctant fan breathless.
